  1. About

Our research activities focus on the following areas:
1.Epitaxial growth of novel quantum materials including topological insulators and two-dimensional superconductors by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE)
2.Atomic-scale probing of electronic and magnetic properties on surfaces by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) at ultra-low temperature (30 mK) and in high magnetic field (15 T).
3.Characterization and engineering of the electronic energy band structures of the films by combining angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and MBE.
4.Exploration on novel quantum phenomena in the materials with transport measurements.
5.Development of new measurement techniques with high spatial and energy resolutions.
The goal is to prepare low-dimensional structures exhibiting pronounced quantum phenomena and obtain detailed understanding of growth dynamics and various quantum mechanical effects on solid surfaces and in thin films.
